Miles is facing a rare sarcoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Miles was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in August. The oncology team at the Miami Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Miles is 31, worked as a bakery worker until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Miami Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $9,000 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,000
• Scans and lab work: $1,050
• Transport to the Miami Oncology Institute: $500
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $490
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,960

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($5,000) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.
