I'm Mia, 19, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study economics. I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until November. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

    Honest and trustworthy

This is what community support looks like. They didn't just offer generic advice; they provided personalized help tailored to my specific situation.

    Would recommend to anyone

I was going through a tough time and this person's support was invaluable. They didn't judge, just helped. That kind of genuine compassion is rare these days.

Sending strength, Mia. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings

    • Sending love, Mia. Looking forward to the next update.

      • Hope things get better soon, Mia. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!
