Meet is facing stage 3 ovarian cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Meet was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in September. The oncology team at Varanasi Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Meet is 56, worked as a farmer until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Varanasi Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,800 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150 • Scans and lab work: $130 • Transport to Varanasi Regional Medical Center: $160 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60 • Household costs while unable to work: $300 Thank you so much.

Updates from Hitesh

  1. Small update. $139 so far, I made the first payment toward transport to Varanasi Regional Medical Center.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($119 in total) the plan for nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Keep going, Hitesh. Wishing Meet a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Wish I lived closer to Kyiv so I could bring a meal.

    • Gave what I could, wish it was more. Greetings from Nagpur.

      • Thinking of you, Hitesh. Hope the doctors have good news. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Naivasha.

        • Stay strong, Hitesh. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best!
