Manoel needs someone who understands: peer support in recovery

A weekly call with someone who has been through it - that's the whole ask.

I'm six months into recovery from gambling addiction. I attend meetings and see a counselor, but the weeks between meetings are the hardest. I'd love a mentor - someone who has a year or more of recovery and who would be willing to talk once a week. I'm not looking for a replacement for treatment. I'm looking for someone who understands what a bad Tuesday night feels like. I'd prefer someone who's happy to do video calls. Any country is fine. I'll be respectful of your time and boundaries, and happy to pay it forward later. Thank you so much.

  • keep going, Manoel. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

    • Thinking of you and your family. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home

      • Praying for you, Manoel. Looking forward to the next update. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.

        • You're not alone, Manoel. This could happen to any of us. Greetings from Lapu-Lapu

          • Hope it all works out, Manoel. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out.
