Maina needs a guide into cybersecurity - monthly calls

A mentor in cybersecurity could help Maina with a portfolio, interviews and first-job strategy.

I have worked as a hospitality worker for 14 years, and I'm 56. After years of wanting more, I decided to move into cybersecurity, and I have completed a part-time diploma. What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my CV and LinkedIn profile, a realistic view of the job market in Northern Region, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming. I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for six months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time. All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled. Glad we found this place.

  • Wishing you peace. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

    • Rooting for you, Maina. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
