Luke needs a lift to the Vancouver Dialysis Unit - can you help one day a week?

Could you drive Luke to the Vancouver Dialysis Unit on Sunday? A rota of 3 drivers is forming.

Luke has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Vancouver Dialysis Unit alone. After surgery on their hand, Luke can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 19 km each way. Luke is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Thinking of you and your family. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
