I have worked as a farmer for 6 years, and I'm 49. After the factory closing, I decided to move into UX design, and I have completed a self-study course with a project portfolio. What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my interview answers, a realistic view of the job market in California, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming. I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for three months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time. All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Thinking of you, Shirley. This could happen to any of us.

    • Best of luck. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Los Angeles.
