Looking for an accounting mentor: Ian's career change at 28
A mentor in accounting could help Ian with a portfolio, interviews and first-job strategy.

I have worked as a hospitality worker for 6 years, and I'm 28. After being laid off, I decided to move into accounting, and I have completed a part-time diploma.
What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my capstone project, a realistic view of the job market in California, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming.
I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for six months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time.
All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Best of luck, Ian. Hope you make a strong comeback. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Tucson.
Hope it all works out, Ian. Small businesses are the heart of San Diego. Hope you're open again soon. Love from Granada.
Take care, Ian. Your post was clear and honest.
