I have worked as a call-centre agent for 17 years, and I'm 56. After a health scare, I decided to move into software testing, and I have completed a self-study course with a project portfolio. What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my resume and portfolio, a realistic view of the job market in Mombasa, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming. I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for three months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time. All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Praying for you, Wambui. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best

    • Take care. Hope you get there. Love from Sapporo.

      • Best of luck, Wambui. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

        • Stay strong, Wambui. Small businesses are the heart of Mombasa. Hope you're open again soon. Don't give up

          • Hang in there. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 4 people at work. All the best.
