Looking for a nursing mentor: Thulani's career change at 42
Thulani, a factory operator, is retraining for nursing and is looking for a mentor for monthly calls over three months.

I have worked as a factory operator for 16 years, and I'm 42. After being laid off, I decided to move into nursing, and I have completed a self-study course with a project portfolio.
What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my CV and LinkedIn profile, a realistic view of the job market in Gauteng, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming.
I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for three months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time.
All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

hope it all works out. Your post was clear and honest. After 24 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Soweto
So sorry you're going through this, Thulani. Shared it with a few friends.
Best of luck. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Put this on a community board in Ottawa this morning.
This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Soweto.
Sending love, Thulani. Hope you make a strong comeback. Don't give up. Thinking of Soweto
