Looking for a cybersecurity mentor: Genesis's career change at 51
Genesis, a taxi driver, is retraining for cybersecurity and is looking for a mentor for monthly calls over three months.
Anywhere in the world120 views
I have worked as a taxi driver for 8 years, and I'm 51. After being laid off, I decided to move into cybersecurity, and I have completed a bootcamp.
What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my interview answers, a realistic view of the job market in England, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming.
I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for three months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time.
All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
- effort
- 45 minutes a month
- format
- Online or by phone
- skills
- industry experience, patience, honest feedback

Praying for you, Genesis. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Blessings.
Stay strong. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Madina.
Sending good thoughts. Hope the shop reopens soon. Blessings.
thinking of you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Greetings from Lahore.
Hang in there, Genesis. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Thinking of London.
