Looking for a cloud engineering mentor: Gustavo's career change at 52
Seeking an experienced cloud engineering professional for guidance on the transition from taxi driver.
Anywhere in the world735 views
I have worked as a taxi driver for 16 years, and I'm 52. After a health scare, I decided to move into cloud engineering, and I have completed a part-time diploma.
What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my CV and LinkedIn profile, a realistic view of the job market in Colorado, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming.
I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for six months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time.
All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled.
Thank you for reading my story.

Sending love. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 16 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Mandaue
Hope things get better soon, Gustavo. Shared this with my family. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Tel Aviv.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.
Keep going, Gustavo. Hope you make a strong comeback. It's not much but it's yours. God bless.
good luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
