Let's build a youth football pitch together in London
A community-led a youth football pitch at Harmony Primary School that will serve 499 neighbors.
🇬🇧 London, England, United Kingdom1,525 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 499 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $650 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $330
• Safety equipment and signage: $145
• Tools hire and delivery: $175
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
