Let's build a youth football pitch together in Accra

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 152 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $190 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $115 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
