Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Uberlândia
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $300 for materials.
Anywhere in the world1,427 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 590 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $165
• Safety equipment and signage: $105
• Permits and inspections: $30
Thanks for being kind about this.
- André

Sending strength. Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Kobe.
