Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in San Francisco
Volunteers in San Francisco are raising $1,750 for a solar-powered water pump at the Baobab health centre yard.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,750.
It will serve about 92 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,750 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $310
• Tools hire and delivery: $250
• Materials: $1,190
With deep gratitude,
Rafael

Wishing you the best. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
