A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at the Baobab community hall that will serve 439 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 439 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $650 goes:
• Materials: $500
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
Thanks for being kind about this.

Wishing you peace. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings.
Praying for you. Great idea, hope you get there.
so sorry you're going through this, Hazel. I hope things turn around soon. Greetings from Manchester.
