For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 579 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $300 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $25 • Tools hire and delivery: $80 I hope life is good to you. - Lucky

  • Praying for you, Lucky. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

    • best of luck, Lucky. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Take care.
