Let's build a sensory garden for children with autism together in Entebbe
Volunteers in Entebbe are raising $400 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the old Freedom bus depot.
🇺🇬 Uganda102 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Freedom bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 297 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $280
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
Every share and every dollar helps.
