Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Oakland
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Unity Primary School that will serve 149 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,300.
It will serve about 149 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Materials: $1,550
• Permits and inspections: $125
• Safety equipment and signage: $400
• Tools hire and delivery: $225
