For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $800. It will serve about 161 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $800 goes: • Materials: $590 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $85 • Tools hire and delivery: $100 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Updates from Joyce
