Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Madrid
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Acacia Park that will serve 576 neighbors.
🇪🇸 Madrid, Madrid, Spain1,124 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,100.
It will serve about 576 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,100 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $95
• Tools hire and delivery: $280
• Materials: $1,725
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

More neighborhoods should do this. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless.
More neighborhoods should do this. Love from Tokyo
Wishing you peace, Roberto. This could happen to any of us. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Roberto!
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. permits and inspections is the biggest at $95. It helps to be asked.

Rooting for you, Roberto. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
