For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,150. It will serve about 151 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,150 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $210 • Permits and inspections: $190 • Materials: $1,750 Thank you so much. - Danielle

  • more neighborhoods should do this. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Mandurah
