Let's build a playground together in San Jose
A community-led a playground at the Acacia health centre yard that will serve 187 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,900.
It will serve about 187 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $250
• Tools hire and delivery: $310
• Materials: $2,340
With deep gratitude,
Pedro

Rooting for you, Pedro. More neighborhoods should do this.
Thinking of you, Pedro. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from London.
Thinking of you and your family, Pedro. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Please keep us posted
Hang in there. This could happen to any of us. After 9 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Hope it all works out, Pedro. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Los Angeles
Take care, Pedro. Looking forward to the next update. Blessings.
