Let's build a free library and reading room together in St. Petersburg
A community-led a free library and reading room at Jacaranda Park that will serve 456 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 456 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $900 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $550
• Permits and inspections: $155
• Safety equipment and signage: $195
