Let's build a free library and reading room together in Kadıköy
Volunteers in Kadıköy are raising $1,050 for a free library and reading room at Baobab Primary School.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,050.
It will serve about 351 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Materials: $810
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $110
• Tools hire and delivery: $95
