Let's build a covered market stall space together in Toronto
A community-led a covered market stall space at the Lotus community hall that will serve 505 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $4,200.
It will serve about 505 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $4,200 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $530
• Tools hire and delivery: $390
• Materials: $3,280
