Let's build a covered market stall space together in San Jose
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $2,450 for materials.
🇺🇸 San Jose, California, United States4,425 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,450.
It will serve about 119 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Materials: $1,600
• Permits and inspections: $310
• Safety equipment and signage: $140
• Tools hire and delivery: $400
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
