Let's build a covered market stall space together in Nnewi
A community-led a covered market stall space at Lotus Park that will serve 284 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 284 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $550 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Materials: $460
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
Updates from Kehinde
Small update. $234 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
Thank you all. We're at 27% now ($149). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage.

Take care, Kehinde. This could happen to any of us. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
