Let's build a covered market stall space together in Nairobi

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $150 for materials.

Nairobi
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 125 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $150 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $50 • Safety equipment and signage: $60 • Permits and inspections: $40 Glad we found this place.

  2. Update from Nairobi: we've started the first stage. We're at 19% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

Take care. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Nairobi

Praying for you. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Bakersfield.
