Let's build a community garden together in Newcastle upon Tyne
Volunteers in Newcastle upon Tyne are raising $2,050 for a community garden at the old Maple bus depot.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,050.
It will serve about 146 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• Materials: $1,300
• Permits and inspections: $170
• Safety equipment and signage: $370
• Tools hire and delivery: $210
Thanks for reading all this.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Keith
Materials is $1,300 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks, that means a lot.
Sending love, Keith. Shared this with my family. Thinking of Newcastle upon Tyne.
this could happen to any of us. Thinking of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Thinking of you, Keith. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
Good luck, Keith. I hope things turn around soon. Wish I lived closer to Cartagena so I could bring a meal. Blessings
