Let's build a community garden together in Mississauga
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $3,700 for materials.
🇨🇦 Mississauga, Ontario, Canada1,418 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,700.
It will serve about 201 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Materials: $2,800
• Permits and inspections: $135
• Safety equipment and signage: $450
• Tools hire and delivery: $315
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

thinking of you and your family, Anil. Hope this works out for you. All the best.
Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. We're a small family in Bhopal but we're thinking of you. God bless.
Keep going, Anil. More neighborhoods should do this.
