I'm Landon, 17, in Grade 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study public health.
I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at a food pantry and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until December. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
- effort
- 1 hour a week
- format
- Online or by phone
- skills
- university experience, essay feedback

Hope things get better soon, Landon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Sending love, Landon. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Blessings.
Praying for you. Study hard! Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
wishing you peace, Landon. I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. God bless.
Take care. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. I'll check back for the next update. All the best
