A car accident left Keith short on rent for 5 months; help us stay in our home.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $5,100.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by January, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.

what's already covered and what's the $5,100 for?
It's all in the list in the story. rent arrears (5 months) is the big one at $3,600, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Good question.
