The heating account is 2 months behind. Claire received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless $850 is paid. She had never been late before February's medical emergency. Claire called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $160 first, which isn't available. The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through winter without heating isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
