Bhopal

After a car accident that kept me from work for 5 weeks, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $550. My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave. I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent. Where the $550 goes: • Rent arrears (2 months): $330 • Late fees and court costs: $60 • Utilities in arrears: $20 • First month of rent as a buffer: $140 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Yamini

thinking of you and your family, Yamini. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
