Keep a roof over Vivian's head in Newcastle
A long illness left Vivian short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.

When my hours were cut in half in August, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,800.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $3,800 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $2,250
• Late fees and court costs: $400
• Utilities in arrears: $200
• First month of rent as a buffer: $950
Thanks for being kind about this.

Wishing you peace, Vivian. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
Hope it all works out, Vivian. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless
Thinking of you, Vivian. Shared it with a few friends.
Take care, Vivian. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Take care.
Praying for you, Vivian. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. God bless.
This could happen to any of us. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Gqeberha
Keep going, Vivian. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Newcastle.
