Keep a roof over Serge's head in Montpellier

After a cut in working hours, Serge is 5 months behind on rent and has a final eviction notice from the landlord.

When the textile factory closed in March, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $2,450. My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by June, we must leave. I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done. Where the $2,450 goes: • Utilities in arrears: $260 • Rent arrears (5 months): $2,050 • Late fees and court costs: $140 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Serge

    • Serge Baptiste MichelOwnerAnswer

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. utilities in arrears comes first ($260) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Ask me anything else.

  • Gabriela D. Martínez

take care, Serge. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Love from Jalandhar

    • Paula D. Medina

Hope it all works out, Serge. I hope things turn around soon. After 20 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
