Keep a roof over Rocío's head in Iztapalapa
The loss of a second income left Rocío short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇲🇽 Iztapalapa, Ciudad de México, Mexico879 views
After a sudden layoff at the bakery, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Monday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,150.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $650
• Late fees and court costs: $130
• Utilities in arrears: $65
• First month of rent as a buffer: $305
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Thanks for sharing this, Rocío. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Blessings.
Thinking of you and your family. Gave what I could, wish it was more. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Iztapalapa.
Praying for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Blessings!
