Keep a roof over Noreen's head in Multan
After the closure of the factory, Noreen is 3 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.
🇵🇰 Multan, Punjab, PakistanPosted Oct 1, 2026737 views
After a sudden layoff at the bakery, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Friday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $350.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $350 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $200
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Utilities in arrears: $10
• First month of rent as a buffer: $110
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Updates from Noreen
Good news. Because of your gifts ($200 in total) I made the first payment toward late fees and court costs. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

How is Noreen doing now?
hang in there. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Peshawar.
So sorry you're going through this, Noreen. I hope things turn around soon.
Sending good thoughts, Noreen. This could happen to any of us.
Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Birmingham
Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
