Keep a roof over Hasan's head in Istanbul
A notice to vacate arrived last week. Hasan needs $1,100 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Istanbul.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 5 weeks, Hasan fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Monday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $1,100.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by July, the family must leave.
There are 1 children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Hasan has started working two part-time jobs, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.

• First month of rent as a buffer: $290
