Keep a roof over Franziska's head in Cologne
A court summons for non-payment arrived last week. Franziska needs $3,500 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Cologne.

After a sudden layoff at the bakery, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Monday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,500.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $2,700
• Late fees and court costs: $180
• Utilities in arrears: $180
• First month of rent as a buffer: $440

thanks for sharing this, Franziska. Hope you get there!
thinking of you and your family, Franziska. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Cologne
Best of luck, Franziska. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best
Keep going, Franziska. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. God bless.
