Kayode's early-stage lung cancer treatment fund
Kayode is facing early-stage lung cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In August I was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer. My oncology team at Badagry University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in October. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 45, I worked as a hairdresser until August, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Badagry University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $680
• Household costs while unable to work: $310
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $110
Thanks for reading all this.

Good luck, Kayode. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I'll check back for the next update.
Hope it all works out. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope December is when things finally get easier.
