Kato received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
After a cut in working hours, Kato is 3 months behind on rent and has a court summons for non-payment from the landlord.

When the warehouse closed in November, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Friday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $700.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by February, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $700 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $460
• Late fees and court costs: $20
• Utilities in arrears: $60
• First month of rent as a buffer: $160
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
