Kathmandu fire in the settlement relief - the Eastgate settlement
Neighbors in the Eastgate settlement are rebuilding after the fire in the settlement; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The fire in the settlement hit the Eastgate settlement on 27 June. My home was one of 84 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $800 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $140
• Roofing sheets and timber: $540
• Clean water and purification supplies: $120
Glad we found this place.

Thinking of you, Anjali. Great idea, hope you get there. God bless.
Good luck. I hope things turn around soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Manila
