Kamal was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in July. The surgeon at Cairo University Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,450, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,000 short. my son has been in and out of Cairo University Hospital since July. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,450 is more than we can find. While we wait, Kamal struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Kamal won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,000 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $85 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $190 • Post-operative medication: $40 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $610 • Physiotherapy sessions: $75 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
