Kai needs a cutting table and overlocker to reopen a sewing studio
A sewing studio in Gatineau needs help replacing a cutting table and overlocker after a storm that collapsed the roof.

For three years I have run a sewing studio in Gatineau. In April, a storm that collapsed the roof took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $3,900 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $260
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $2,900
• Initial stock: fabric: $740
With deep gratitude,
Kai

Praying for you, Kai. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Varanasi.
Sending strength. Small businesses are the heart of Gatineau. Hope you're open again soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Hope things get better soon, Kai. Hope you make a strong comeback. Take care.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Mumbai.
