Justice shouldn't depend on a bank balance: Liam's residency renewal
Liam needs $2,900 for filing fees and representation in a residency renewal before the October deadline.

I'm facing a residency renewal. My hearing is scheduled for October, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $2,900. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline.
I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at a local immigrant rights clinic has confirmed that my case is valid.
If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know.
I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along.
The money goes to the immigration attorney's trust account and the court filing office. I'll upload receipts with sensitive details removed.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Filing and biometrics fees: $720
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $195
• Attorney retainer: $1,985
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

So sorry you're going through this, Liam. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings!
Hope it all works out. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Take care, Liam. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Take care.
