Júlia was diagnosed with stomach cancer in June. The oncology team at São Paulo Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Júlia is 50, worked as a bank teller until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to São Paulo Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,150 goes: • Transport to São Paulo Cancer Centre: $330 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,750 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
