Join the Refugee Welcome Picnic: Jorge needs helpers on Saturday
Our small team in San Jose is running the Refugee Welcome Picnic and needs volunteers for set-up, serving and clean-up.
🇺🇸 California, United States1,055 views
Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 535 neighbors in San Jose. I help organize it with 4 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for stewarding, first-aid support and clean-up. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a long-standing tradition, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.
If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you.
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Stay strong, Jorge. Great idea, hope you get there. I have a 14 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless.
So sorry you're going through this, Jorge. More neighborhoods should do this. My neighbor in Boulogne-Billancourt donated after I showed her your page. Blessings!
You're not alone, Jorge. I hope things turn around soon. After 16 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless
So sorry you're going through this. Looking forward to the next update. Put this on a community board in New York this morning. Greetings from New York
Sending love. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Thinking of San Jose.
Sending strength. This could happen to any of us. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care!
Best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 30 people at work.
